I actually grew up in Colorado, but I've lived in Hawaii for the past six years.  Started in the radio business cooking hot dogs at radio station remotes.  Cleaning the BBQ, hauling equipment and hanging Christmas Lights were also in my job description.  After paying my dues I ended up with an overnight air-shift on the local CHR station.  (KissFM/KSME)
Landed in Hawaii because Colorado/Hawaii had a reciprocal exchange program for college students.  (Hawaii residents/Colorado residents could pay in-state tuition, whatever state they were in for college.)  All my friends in college we're actually from Hawaii.  We graduated, they moved back here and I came along.

Radio is a business that gets in your blood if you do it long enough...  So I ended up at CC Hawaii.  Worked for STAR initially as a part-time jock then took a full-time night gig at sister station KSSK.  Needless to say, (and not to discount KSSK) when the opportunity to work for STAR again I jumped at the  chance.
